KEEP LYNDEN'S WATER HEALTHY.

Give our kids a strong future. Keep a healthy balance of fluoride.

For more than 50 years, the city of Lynden has made sure our community has a healthy balance of minerals in our water, including fluoride.  Fluoride is a proven way to promote good health. Families right here in Lynden are grateful for traditional water policies that help keep our community healthy.

Unfortunately, misinformation that is supported by outside money may cause Lynden to throw this legacy away. For the sake of our families, let’s protect our kids and people of all ages by maintaining the healthy balance of fluoride in our city water.

  • Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral. It is in lakes, rivers and the ocean.

  • A proper balance of fluoride is critical for healthy teeth and overall wellness.

  • For generations, the city of Lynden has protected our families by balancing our water fluoridation.

  • This balance of fluoridation is proven to benefit our kids our kids and adults.

  • When other cities have ended fluoridation, it’s driven up costs for health and dental care – especially for people who can least afford it.

Let’s not go backwards when it comes to protecting the teeth and health of our kids. Keep Lynden’s water like it is. Learn more about water fluoridation in Washington.

Health Alert!

The Lynden City Council is considering taking away one of the most effective and cost-saving health benefits that we have had since the middle of the last century.

The Council is responding to some local residents who are misinformed about the safety and actual health benefits of water with a good balance of fluoride that the residents of Lynden have enjoyed for the past 65 years. These well-meaning but misinformed individuals have asked the city Council to remove fluoride from our water system. This would push additional healthcare costs onto our residents.

Water with a good balance of the mineral fluoride is proven and an essential part of good health. Local doctors and dentists in Lynden agree that it is effective in markedly improving oral health and wellbeing. Furthermore, Lyndenites have saved millions of dollars in additional healthcare costs over the years because of it.

Our children and their children are in danger of losing a fundamental building block of health that benefits more than 70% of Americans.

Lynden is special. Let’s keep it that way! We ask the City Council to listen to the majority of residents that want to keep water fluoridation and keep a good thing going.
